Relational revolution and relationality in IR: New conversations

Abstract There is a multifaceted relational revolution afoot in International Relations (IR) and the social sciences more widely. This article suggests, via engagement with varied forms of thought practice IR, but particular ‘relational cosmology’ associated ‘natural’ as well ‘social’ sciences, that there are important reasons for IR around it to be attentive dialogues on relationality across natural sciences. If has challenged colonial bifurcated ontologies field, cosmology too assists shifting ‘modern’ understandings science cosmos by facilitating situated knowledges deep-going relationalities ‘nature’ ‘society’, ‘human’ ‘non-human’ communities. Relational may productive joining, perhaps even facilitating, conversations multiple emerging from different parts world fields inquiry, yet – reflecting its pluriversal orientations not proposed here new ‘meta-‘ or ‘grand-’ narrative theorising IR.
